Half the country’s adult population, over 470 million people as per census projections, is now fully vaccinated. That’s about 62% of people in Europe, or 78% of those in North America. The milestone was achieved in 11 months since the drive began. Vaccine hesitancy is the next challenge, especially as the new Omicron variant underscores the need for inoculating as many as possible, and quickly.
