Hi! I’m working on an editorial piece around Bollywood’s representation and impact of baldness. I’m reaching out for stories or thoughts/ comments about the discrimination you have faced due to the way baldness is portrayed in Bollywood movies.
Often, bald characters are relegated to roles that evoke laughter or fear, perpetuating stereotypes and reinforcing harmful biases. While there has been a recent shift with some heroes embracing the bald look, these characters are burdened with heavy, often tragic, storylines, far from the standard heroic narratives of Bollywood.
Please feel free to mention any characters that you felt added to this stereotype to help with my story too.
